What it stands for
The Moon is how you receive life. Everything you see, hear and feel comes in through it, and it colours how you respond.
It is gentle and adaptable, very sensitive, and it changes with the sign it sits in more than any other body. It is tied to home, to family and to the ordinary public, everyday people.
Its challenge is drift. Moods can lead, interests can change every season, and it can take time to find the work that really fits.
How it was read before
The older books set the Moon beside the Sun: the Sun as your deeper self, the Moon as the form it takes in the world.
They noticed that two babies born only minutes apart can have the Moon in different signs, which they said is one reason twins can be so different.
They compared the Moon to Isis, keeper of mysteries, and said the Moon has no middle way. It can lead to devotion or to being ruled by moods. Because it moves so quickly, they read it for small daily changes, while the Sun and planets marked the bigger turns.
Sit with this
Feelings come and go like the tide. You do not have to follow every wave.
Sit with this: what does your heart need today, not your to-do list? The Moon in the sky changes every couple of days. Notice how you change with it.
