Saturn

Saturn is the planet of time, discipline and the lessons that take patience to learn. It shows where life asks you to grow up.

What it stands for

Saturn is wisdom earned through experience. It brings structure, patience, care with detail and the will to keep going.

Where Saturn sits, things tend to take longer. The older books saw that as a gift as well as a test. Bigger obstacles can grow a bigger person, and success that comes slowly tends to last.

Its shadow is fear and heaviness: too much caution, giving up just before the turn, carrying everyone's load. The older advice was patience, good cheer and remembering that the hard road reaches the same place as the easy one.

How it was read before

Saturn was the outermost planet the ancients could see. They called it Father Time.

The older books named it the greater malefic, the larger of the two difficult planets. They also said it builds and crystallises when it is used for others and not just for yourself.

They said its influence is felt most in the first thirty years of life and again after sixty, and that you take out of life what you put in.

Sit with this

Your hardest lessons have made you who you are. Be gentle with the person who learned them.

Sit with this: what are you building slowly that you can be proud of?
